Wehrmacht K98 pouches were originally introduced in 1909, initially holding 45 rounds in nine chargers, but were reduced to a 30-round capacity in 1911. They were made of leather and had minor variations in construction and fittings over time, with manufacturer and date markings appearing on the rear. During WWII, these pouches continued to be used by the K98k rifle and saw changes in materials and construction methods, such as the shift from aluminum to steel fittings and late-war production cuts.
