The M-1923 Garand Belt was the standard-issue cartridge belt for US soldiers during World War II, designed to carry 10 clips of .30-caliber ammunition for the M1 Garand rifle. It was an updated version of the WWI-era M-1910 belt, featuring an improved buckle and a new friction-based size adjustment system instead of hooks and grommets. The belt was made of tan (OD#3) webbing early in the war, switching to olive-drab (OD#7) from 1943 onward, and served as the foundation for a soldier’s basic load-bearing equipment.
